A Quick History of Our Brand.
Humble Beginnings
2017: Sola Salons
Trust Thy Barber was born in an 8′ x 10′ Sola Salon loft in Novembver 2017. Most people didn’t get the name of the business at first – but as soon as they leaned back in the barber chair and felt and old fashioned straight razor glide across their throat it made perfect sense!
The First Expansion
2018: Market Common
12 months after opening, Trust Thy Barber had outgrown the Sola Salon loft and needed to move. The busy Market Common shopping district of Myrtle Beach was the perfect fit! Business at the loft operated normally during the day, while the evenings were full of assembling and construction!
With construction almost complete, it was time to christen the shop with its first client – Andrew was indispensible to the buildout so it was only fitting he was the first one to get a cut in the new shop! – pay no attention to the trash bag chair cloth lol –
With construction all wrapped up, the other Sola Salon stylists threw a surpise “good luck” party – time to see what the next chapter has in store!

2020: Covid Shuts Us Down
Two years later, we experienced a meteoric rise to the top, only to face the challenges posed by Covid that threatened to derail all the progress the Trust Thy Barber family had made. By this point, we had expanded from two barbers to three, four, five, and even six! We had outgrown our original space and knew it was time to expand once more. As fortune would have it, a photography studio next door was struggling financially due to the pandemic. The owners were eager to exit their lease but couldn’t afford to break it. We collaborated with Market Common to take over the lease, creating a win-win situation: we gained a larger space, and the photography studio was able to end their lease and start anew in a smaller location.
The Second Expansion
2021: Moving Next Door
With the pandemic shut downs over and a new lease in hand, Trust Thy Barber began building out the new location. With room for 8 chairs, we finally had enough space to breath and even grow!
Construction under way – this place is huge! Plenty of room for us to spread our wings and take this to the next level! Just a few more things to take care of…

A 12′ tall skeleton named Shamus as a mascot? Trust Thy Barber definitely marches to the beat of its own drummer!
Act II: Mom & Pop to Franchise
2024: Can We Replicate the success?
In 2024 Trust Thy Barber took another step forward in its evolution: franchising! What started as a simple vision and desire to bring a “trendy” barbershop to Myrtle Beach turned into a franchise with the intention of bringing our brand of client-first services and chill vibes to the barber industry. We secured a location in Murrells Inlet and construction began!
Looking Good – But Something (or someONE) is missing…
SHAMUS!
With the big guy watching over the shop – we were officially ready to open for business!
2026 & Beyond
What's Next for Trust Thy barber?
As the new year draws near, Trust Thy Barber is diligently handling all the essential legalities including trademarks, systems, testing, and implementation.
